We were so fortunate this year to have the kids back at Butler Creek elementary school where Noelle attended kindergarten. It is the newest school in our district and located in a nice neighborhood with lots of involved families. Because some of the students at our school didn't meet whatever standards it was supposed to, we were allowed to transfer to the better school and now the kids are all in without having to request transfer every year.
We were sad to leave our neighbors, Diesel and Kinhly, and the carpool but Kinhly is still at our door seconds after she arrives home from school wanting to play. :)

Wyatt's first day of Kindergarten! He is in Ms Stewart's class this year, the same teacher Noelle had for kindergarten. We like her and he is having a great time so far. I was relieved to see there was a boy in his class that is just the same size as him. Most of the other kids, mostly girls, tower over our guy. He doesn't seem to notice though. His awesome messenger bag was a 50 cent garage sale find that I added an iron on race car to. It is the perfect size for him.

Noelle's first day of 2nd grade. She too is loving school. When I asked her how her first day was she said "AWESOME!" Her best friend from kindergarten, Emma, is in her class and they are so excited. She also knows a few other kids from her kindergarten and some who transferred in from her old school as well. I was lucky to get away without buying a new backpack or lunch bag for her this year. I never brought it up and neither did she!

Best Friends Forever!

Dancing Queen!

Noelle had her first dance recital! It was really cute however hardly worth the $50 costume and $15 tickets!! But she is born to perform so I guess we will have to continue to fork out the dough. Her favorite part was getting to wear lipstick. She wanted to make sure we could see it from the crowd. She wasn't nervous and did a great job in front of all the people. I don't know where she gets it because performing in front of anyone is not my cup of tea.

Lego time with Uncle Brian

While my brother Brian was visiting after his deployment in Iraq, the kids loved spending time with their uncle. One day, he got out his old Legos and they had a blast playing with them. Brian successfully put together his space shuttle and the kids had fun playing with the rest of the legos.

Logan fell in love with the wind up wheel base that had a key you stick in it to wind it.

Noelle's favorite part was the treasure chest with the little gold coins. (It is a wonder there are still any left after all these years!)

Wyatt loved all of it and I think it is about time we start getting our own Legos.

The perfect toy!

Ben got a new lawnmower and as soon as the box was empty, the kids claimed it for themselves. They set the box up on the porch and all got in it and then popped out when I came to the door.

It was soon transformed into a bus (? can't remember what they called it) with lots of markers and some box cutting by mom. They spent at least an hour decorating it and then many more hours playing with it.











It soon became a comfy bed for Wyatt and Logan.

They have taken turns sleeping in it every night for the past week and a half.

Sadly, Noelle is too tall to sleep in it.

Two Wheels!!

Noelle has learned to ride a 2-wheeler!! One day she just said she wanted to take the training wheels off. I thinking it she would want them right back on but she didn't! Our small and athletic friend Becky, was over at the time and graciously volunteered to run alongside of Noelle while she got the hang of it. It only took her about 10 minutes!!
We continued to work with her over a few days and she is almost a pro now! She can't wait to go camping this summer and ride her bike all day long.

Becky's son Nik is only 4 and riding circles around Noelle.

I have been meaning to write these down for a long time and I am finally getting around to it.

Logan -

"I do it my own self!"

and if he doesn't want to do something he adds "anymore" on the end of a complaint

such as "No nap anymore!"

Wyatt -

He likes to insert the phrase "super-duper-extra" when describing anything.

He also describes things with "ness" at the end of words such as "the whiteness". It is pretty cute.
